Born on April 6, 1964, in Paris, Sylvain Beuf is an essential multi-instrumentalist, saxophonist, and composer on the French jazz scene. With over thirty years of career, he has collaborated with the greatest names in French and European jazz.
Classical training, Jazz
He began with classical saxophone studies at the Conservatoire d’Orsay under André Beun and Daniel Petitjean, before turning to jazz at CIM, where he met influential figures such as Jean-Claude Forenbach, Claude Tissandier, Charles Schneider, Xavier Cobo, and Philippe Maté. He completed his theoretical training studying harmony with Pierre Lantier and Bernard Maury.
Rise in the 1980s
He was revealed in 1987 thanks to Martial Solal, René Urtreger, and Gérard Badini. He became professional, joining several Parisian big bands and playing alongside Georges Brown, François Chassagnite, Michel Perez, and Hervé Sellin.

In 1993, he released his first album Impro Primo (with Bojan Z, Stéphane Huchard, Christophe Wallemme), earning:
