Aprиs quelques tвtonnements, j'ai trouvй une position satisfaisante mais qui reste toujours plus dйlicate а trouver pour йviter de dйborder de la surface de l'anche. Sur le plan du son, j'ai trouvй une plus grand facilitй d'йmission et de maintien notamment dans les "piano" et "double piano" . le son est effectivement plus riche et me semble plus "propre". Associйe а mon bec Selmer Soloist, cette ligature facilite mon jeu et a gommй quelques dйfauts de justesse. Malgrй un prix йlevй, je ne regrette pas mon achat.

Review submitted by Terry SCHMIDT - Purchased for Tenor Bill Evans 1AO metal mouthpiece. Using Fiberreed M and MH. Tone: Very open and bright tone. Low notes subtone easily, altissimo speaks easily, most noticeable improvement is at the break around F#, G. The tool provided allowed me to adjust the ligature to fit my Alto Theo Wanne Metal as well. Both mouthpieces are approximately the same diameter. The only thing that I would change is the clamping screw. Just a little bit larger diameter would make adjusting easier since the clamping screw is in close proximity to the side screw. This is a very small issue for me since I don't change reeds often when playing. Synthetic reeds are stable and don't require maintenance or play testing.

Thoughts in no particular order: I find the ligature difficult to set up. It's a shame that the ligature is so tightly adjusted to this or that mouthpiece because I'm not going to buy three ligatures. I was tempted, but you're really expensive. FYI, I haven't received any confirmation that my lifetime warranty is registered, the handling was problematic... please check. I was hoping for more pleasure using this ligature than I've experienced so far, but it's better than my previous one, so 4 stars. I play a Conn Chu Berry with an ebonite jazz mouthpiece. The difference compared to a traditional ligature, subtle at first, became noticeable with use: I personally felt more vibration, a warmer, less restrained sound. However, it is not easy to put in place and the felts that rest on the top of the mouthpiece are not thick enough and the glue does not hold well, so that when tightening, they tend to no longer stay in place. I will try to remedy this defect with my luthier but it is a shame. On the aesthetic level, nothing to say. (I play an old Ottolink Florida)

The attack on the low notes is greatly facilitated. Negative: The system of 2 radial screws is certainly simple but is not very practical to adjust with a difficult grip on a very small diameter thread. It is quite easily deregulated and the use of the ligature on different mouthpieces does not allow the screws to be blocked with varnish.

However, I have a few criticisms to make. 1- At the selling price of the product, I find it excessive to sell the mouthpiece cover as an extra, moreover at a high price (39) 2- I mount my ligature on Otto link and Guardalla metal mouthpieces, the small adjustment screws located on the belt press on the body of the mouthpiece and scratch it because they have no protection at their end. As a result, my mouthpieces are now scratched at the right angle to the belt support. The belt is not at all suitable for metal mouthpieces (diameter too large) which makes the aesthetics of the whole thing not very nice, it looks a bit amateurish as an assembly.

Review submitted by Daniel LE HEMONET - I use a JLV ligature for alto saxophone. The results have been amazing for the beginner/intermediate player that I am. I ordered a second one for my tenor sax. Anti-slip pads are cut with a cutter and glued to the mouthpiece. A little handwritten note explains how to do it. It's a bit of a last-minute DIY job. That said, the sonic results are still satisfactory. There is no more leakage on the sides of the reeds and the sound is clearer and sharper.
