Born in Rennes (1975), Yoann Haméon discovered music at the Clermont-Ferrand Conservatory, starting with the cello before turning to the saxophone at the age of eight. He studied under Jean-Claude Dodin at the CRD of Blois, where he obtained, in 1993, a First Prize in saxophone with unanimous distinction.
An Exceptional Journey Between Classical Music and Jazz
He continued his classical and contemporary studies at the CRR of Boulogne-Billancourt with Jean-Michel Goury, earning, in 1995, another First Prize with unanimous honors.
He is also a winner of several national and international competitions, including:

In parallel, passionate about jazz, he attended classes at the CIM with Jean-Claude Fohrenbach, enriching his playing and developing an eclectic style.

➤ Professor’s Diploma of Artistic Education from the *Ministry of the Interior (2004)

Musical Projects and Personal Creations
Since 2000, he has been a member of the Tentet au Carré, directed by Christophe Violland, exploring a soul/funk repertoire through explosive arrangements around the works of The Beatles, Stevie Wonder, and Michael Jackson.
In 2018, he founded his own ensemble, the YHAM 4tet, featuring:
