➤ Saxophonist of the Ensemble Sillages / Scène Nationale Le Quartz-Brest, Stéphane Sordet quickly turned towards contemporary music and creation after a period exploring jazz and improvisation.
➤ With Sillages, he participates each year in numerous creations of works and performances, promoting the new repertoire to diverse audiences.
➤ He collaborates with numerous ensembles (Dédalus, Rhizome, Ensemble Spirali…) and works with composers from various backgrounds: G. Bustos, A. Alsina, M. Lepauvre, Dazzi, F. Rossé, K. Sakaï, M. Matalon, R. Lemay, B. de la Fuente, D. D’Adamo, J. Torres Maldonado, J. Munoz Bravo, C. Grätzer, J.M. Lopez Lopez…
➤ A specialist in new technologies and electro-acoustic music, he integrates the Sylphyo into his repertoire and collaborates with Aodyo on the development of this instrument.
➤ As a crossover saxophonist, he plays all saxophones, from bass to sopranino, and multiplies interdisciplinary collaborations, blending music, theatre, dance, jazz, improvised music, electronic music, and world music.
➤ He has recorded several pieces for France Musique, France Culture, and various labels, as well as two CDs with Trimurti (saxophone trio).
➤ Regularly invited to universities, conservatories, museums, and cultural centers, he gives lectures on contemporary music and computer music techniques.
➤ As Vice-President of the Association des Saxophonistes Français, he promotes the presentation of new repertoires.
➤ Professor of artistic education at the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Brest.
