➤ Cuban saxophonist born in Matanzas, Nardy Castellini is a creator of bridges between jazz (Be-Bop, Hard-bop, Free jazz, funk, gospel, R&B) and Afro-Cuban music (rumba, Yoruba rhythms).
➤ His music always carries intrinsic Afro-Cuban rhythms, used freely to create an intense musical flow and a unique space of communication between instruments.
➤ He has collaborated with Talla Extra, Xiomara Laugart, Afrocuba, Klimax, Cubanismo, and Four Runners, recording over 20 albums and performing at prestigious festivals (Montreux Jazz Festival, Jazz à Vienne, Nice Jazz Festival, Montreal…).
➤ In 2002, he released his first album IDENTITY (with Omar Sosa, Sherman Irby, Tata Güines), critically acclaimed and ranked in the top 10 Latin jazz albums by Jazz Hot.
➤ In 2010, his album ORIGENES fused ancestral Afro-Cuban rhythms with modern jazz, confirming his hybrid and inventive style.
➤ In 2012, he joined the world tour of Rodrigo y Gabriela & C.U.B.A, performing 46 concerts in 7 months, including several major TV appearances.
➤ Based in Paris since then, he collaborates notably with Orlando Poleo and continues creating new compositions, performed on international stages.
