THE BIOGRAPHY OF RICARD CAPELLINO
Ricard Capellino, renowned Spanish saxophonist, stands out for his commitment to contemporary music and the creation of new works.
Winner of numerous competitions, he performs at the most prestigious festivals and collaborates with international ensembles.
As a professor and researcher, he constantly explores the sonic possibilities of the saxophone, from sopranino to bass.
➤ Born in Sueca (Valencia), Ricard Capellino began his musical studies in his hometown and trained with masters such as Daniel Kientzy, Jean-Marie Londeix, Claude Delangle, Marie-Bernadette Charrier, and Marcus Weiss.
➤ Winner of several awards and finalist in national and international competitions, he obtained the title of Professor Superior at the CSM Joaquín Rodrigo of Valencia with Honorable Mention and unanimous distinction.
➤ He performs as a soloist and interpreter worldwide (Paris, Berlin, Milan, Helsinki, São Paulo, Madrid, etc.) and takes part in prestigious international contemporary music festivals (Musica Nova, ENSEMS, Opus Festival, Klang Festival, etc.).
➤ Creator of numerous world premieres, often dedicated by the composers themselves, he has recorded for RTVE, RNE, Radio Televisão Portugal, and Radio 1 Finland.
➤ Deeply committed to contemporary music, he collaborates with ensembles such as TDM Trio De Magia, Ensemble Espai Sonor, and Trio Feedback, while exploring new sonic possibilities of the saxophone.
➤ Author of several recordings (Stradivarius label, works by Voro García, José Manuel López López, Mauricio Sotelo, Raphaël Cendo, etc.) and of the research work “New Perspectives on the Saxophone”.
➤ Since 1999, he has been a professor at the Spanish Ministry of Music and Performing Arts and regularly gives masterclasses and lectures in prestigious institutions.
