THE BIOGRAPHY OF VITALY VATULYA

Vitaly Vatulya is an internationally renowned saxophonist.

Winner of prestigious competitions and soloist with major European and Russian orchestras.

Co-founder of VitaDuo and a recognized pedagogue, he shares his art across more than 20 countries.

Committed to cultural and humanitarian projects, he promotes peace and contemporary repertoire.

Internationally recognized saxophonist and soloist, winner of over 20 national and international competitions, including the Delphic Games (Russia), the 1st Prize at the Marco Fiorindo International Saxophone Competition (Italy), and the Nova Gorica International Saxophone Competition (Slovenia).

 

Performs as a soloist and in chamber music across Europe, Russia, and internationally, with prestigious orchestras: Moscow State Symphony Orchestra, Russian State Symphony Orchestra, St. Petersburg State Capella Symphony Orchestra, Slovenian Philharmonic Orchestra, Kosovo Philharmonic, etc.

Co-founder of VitaDuo with pianist Maria Nemtsova; regular collaborations with the Keuris Saxophone Quartet, Ebonit Saxophone Quartet, cellist Evgeny Rumyantsev, violinist Artiom Shishkov, among others.

 

Active professor, whose students are winners of international competitions; has given masterclasses in over 20 countries (Zagreb Academy of Music, Yerevan State Conservatory, University of Ljubljana, Jerusalem Academy, Lagos Academy, etc.).

 

➤ Since 2018, member of the teaching team at the Habanera Academy of Saxophone and participant at the Saxophone in Movement Festival in Poitiers (France).

 

Discography: three CDs since 2007, performing works by Hindemith, Debussy, Franck, Mendelssohn, Borne, etc.

 

Co-founder of the Music for Peace projects (concerts and masterclasses in post-conflict zones) and Re:Formers Fest (promotion of rare contemporary repertoire and new musical forms).
