THE BIOGRAPHY OF MINWOO SUNG

Minwoo Sung, award-winning saxophonist, leads an active career between solo concerts, chamber music, and orchestral collaborations.

He is also a conductor and pedagogue, working for musical transmission and inclusion.

Minwoo Sung – Saxophonist and Conductor
Minwoo Sung is a renowned saxophonist, appreciated for his warm tone and refined artistic sense. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Music with a scholarship from the University of Ulsan, then completed a Master’s Degree in Music at Jeju National University.

His talent was recognized early in his studies, winning several prestigious competitions:

 

1st Prize at the Busan Music Education Association Competition.

Chamber Music and Conducting

 
Alongside his solo activities, Minwoo Sung is passionate about chamber music. He founded the “ANIMA DUO”, bringing together saxophone and harp, and gave a recital in 2018. This duo explores various musical styles and collaborates with different instrumental formations, including ensembles and quartets.

 

Currently, he is:

 

Permanent member of the Seogwipo Wind Orchestra, Jeju Province.

 
Conductor of the Jeju “Haum” Orchestra for People with Disabilities, where he works for musical transmission and inclusion through music.
