THE BIOGRAPHY OF VÉRONIQUE TARDIF

Véronique Tardif is a recognized French saxophonist, combining pedagogical excellence with contemporary artistic commitment.

Professor at the CRR of Rouen, she stands out for her involvement in musical creation and ensemble music.

A soloist and chamber musician, she develops diverse projects in the service of an expressive and modern saxophone.

Véronique Tardif is an accomplished saxophonist and a recognized pedagogue, pursuing a rich career combining teaching, concert performance, and artistic creation.

 

In 2000, she obtained her Diplôme d’Études Musicales at the Conservatoire National de Région of Marseille, where she studied with Jean-Pierre Magnac (saxophone), Jean-Claude Latil (chamber music), Christine Sauvaire (music theory), and Nicole Salabert (music history and analysis).

 

The following year, she earned the State Teaching Diploma in Saxophone.

 

She then continued her studies at the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional of Bordeaux, where she obtained a First Prize in Advanced Studies in saxophone and contemporary chamber music in the classes of Marie-Bernadette Charrier and Étienne Rolin.

 

In 2013, she successfully passed the competitive examination for Professor of Artistic Education – Saxophone.

 

A Strong Pedagogical Career

 

She taught saxophone for three years at the CNRR of Nice, and since 2006, she has been a professor at the CRR of Rouen and at the CRD Caux Vallée de Seine, where she is deeply involved in the training of young musicians.

 

A Rich and Diverse Artistic Path

 

Passionate about contemporary musical creation, Véronique Tardif collaborates through masterclasses, artistic projects, and concerts with numerous composers, including:

She performs as a soloist in diverse repertoires — contemporary music, 20th-century music, and transcriptions — in concerts in Marseille, Bordeaux, Nice, Rouen, Paris, Rome, as well as on a tour in Brazil (Brasilia, Rio, Tiradentes).

 

Since 2010, she has been a member of the AEOLIA Saxophone Quartet, a Vandoren partner, regularly invited in France and selected to perform at the International Saxophone Congress in Strasbourg (2015).

 

She also collaborates with:

 

➤ La Grande Fabrique at the CRR of Rouen (Thomas Collin, Francis Faber, Philippe Tailleux, Grégoire Lorieux)

 
➤ A saxophone–percussion trio focused on Argentine composers (Méridiennes de Rouen)

 

➤ The Bordeaux Saxophone Quartet, specialized in contemporary music

 
➤ The 4saxofun Quartet, performing in France, Italy (Turin Chamber Music Festival), and Ukraine (Kyiv)

 

Between 2008 and 2011, she was also baritone saxophonist of the Latin Combo big band.

 

Commitments and Recent Projects

 

Since 2007, Véronique Tardif has regularly performed as a soloist with the Harmonie of the city of Forges-les-Eaux, notably for the premiere of Juventude by Ferrer Ferrand, under the composer’s direction.

 

She has also performed:

 

➤ At the Marseille Opera (2003) under the direction of Tania Léone

 
➤ With the O.N.H.J. in 2002–2003

 

She is currently developing several artistic projects:

 

➤ BCT’rio (saxophone, accordion – Frédéric Baldo, guitar – Aurélien Colas)

 
➤ CachaSax, a Latin-Brazilian jazz quintet (with Sergio Galvão, Rémi Biet, Guillaume Lemoine, and Cédric Vincent)

 

She is also the artistic director of the Harmonie of Grandcamp Normandie.

 

Véronique Tardif plays exclusively on the Buffet Crampon Senzo alto saxophone.
