THE BIOGRAPHY OF WATARU HIRAI
Wataru Hirai is a Japanese saxophonist renowned for his virtuosity and musical elegance.
Winner of the Osaka Grand Prize and 4th Prize at the Adolphe Sax Competition 2023, he continues his ascent at the CNSMDP in Paris.
A young artist to watch closely for the finesse and intensity of his interpretation.
Wataru Hirai, born in Japan in 2000, is a remarkably promising Japanese saxophonist, recognized for his refined playing, technical precision, and expressive musicality.
Graduated from the Osaka College of Music, he is currently pursuing his studies at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris (CNSMDP), in the prestigious saxophone class, where he perfects his art with leading European masters.
His talent has been acknowledged in major international competitions:
