Born in 1969 in Malmö, Sweden, Tomas Trulsson discovered the saxophone at the age of 10. At 14, he joined the Skurups Big Band and later played with the Big Blowin’ Band in Ystad from 1989 to 1994.
In 1992, he joined the music program at Fridhems folkhögskola before moving, in 1994, to Boston, USA, to study at the prestigious Berklee College of Music. There, he took private lessons with renowned masters such as Jerry Bergonzi, Hal Crook, and George Garzone.
In 1996, Tomas performed in a musical at the National Opera of Seoul, South Korea, and also worked as a studio musician, recording for various rock bands and Korean TV dramas.
Graduating in 1998 with a Bachelor of Music from Berklee, he settled in Copenhagen. In October of the same year, he embarked on a musical tour in the Caribbean aboard a cruise ship for four months.
In 1999, he returned to Malmö, collaborating with the troupe “Dåliga Mänskor” at the Malmö Music-Theater, before being hired in 2000 at the Höganäs Cultural School as a saxophone teacher.

Passionate about musical transmission, he leads workshops, specialized courses, and masterclasses on improvisation, and also provides private lessons.
