Hy-Huu Dang, born in 1997, is a talented classical saxophonist and a dedicated pedagogue from Luxembourg.
He discovered the saxophone at the age of 8 at the Conservatoire de la Ville de Luxembourg, in the class of Anaïs Lorentz. From 2017 to 2023, he continued his studies at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam under two renowned masters:
Arno Bornkamp and Willem van Merwijk. In 2022, he enriched his journey through the Erasmus+ program at the Akademija za glasbo in Ljubljana, in the class of Matjaž Drevenšek.
Competitions and Awards
Hy-Huu Dang’s talent has been recognized in several international competitions:
➤ 4th Prize (Intermediate category) – Dinant Young Saxophonists Competition (2013)
➤ 1st Prize – Luxembourg Young Soloists Competition (2018)
➤ Special Prize – Lions European Music Competition (2021)
➤ Selected for the preliminary round of the 8th Adolphe Sax International Competition in Dinant (2023)
Commitments
Hy-Huu Dang is also an active member of the Luxembourg Saxophone Association, where he contributes to the organization of saxophone events and participates in the development of a dynamic community of saxophonists in Luxembourg.
