THE BIOGRAPHY OF GERGŐ SZÁNKÁR

Gergő Szánkár, Hungarian saxophonist, stands out for his artistic excellence and commitment to chamber music.

A winner of international competitions and founder of the Quattro per Tutti Quartet, he performs with the JLV ligature in prestigious concerts.

Gergő Szánkár earned his Bachelor and IGP (Instrumental- und Gesangspädagogik) degrees in Budapest under Levente Puskás.

 

He continued his studies in Belgium with Hans de Jong, earning a Master magna cum laude.

 

A winner of multiple national and international competitions, Gergő Szánkár notably achieved two absolute victories, showcasing his exceptional talent.

 

He served as soprano leader of the RASP – Royal Antwerpen Saxophone Project for two years, performing in numerous concerts in Antwerp.

 

A versatile artist, he has been a member of several saxophone quartets and ensembles in Belgium and Hungary.

 

As founder of the Quattro per Tutti Saxophone Quartet, he stands out for his commitment to chamber music.

 

In June 2023, he performed a live concert with this quartet on Hungarian national radio Bartók, using the JLV ligature.
