THE BIOGRAPHY OF MILAN SAVIĆ

Milan Savić, Serbian saxophonist, clarinetist, and pedagogue, stands out for his international influence and commitment to promoting the saxophone.

Founder of the Belgrade Saxperience Festival and Knight of Arts and Letters, he collaborates with the world’s leading orchestras and artists.

Milan Savić earned a saxophone degree from the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad and a clarinet degree from the University of Music Arts in Belgrade.

 

His musical development has been shaped by participation in numerous international schools and seminars, studying under renowned teachers.

 

Since 2006, he has taught clarinet and saxophone at the Josip Slavenski Music School, where his students regularly win national and international competition prizes.

 

A recognized soloist and pedagogue, he performs throughout Serbia and internationally, notably at the Mokranjac Days and other major festivals.

 

Invited for masterclasses in Italy (Alpen Classica Fest), Greece (Olympic Saxophone Festival), and France (tour with pianist Uki Ovaskainen), he has also performed as a soloist with prestigious ensembles: the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra, RTS Symphony Orchestra, Metamorfozis Chamber Orchestra, and the Grand Chamber Orchestra.

 

He has made several recordings for Radio Belgrade and premiered original works by Ivan Jevtic, Ivan Brkljačić, Ante Grgin, and Aleksandar Sedlar.

 

As an orchestral musician, Milan regularly collaborates with the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra and RTS Symphony Orchestra, participating in concerts and tours in Serbia and abroad.

 

Founder and artistic director of the Belgrade Saxperience International Saxophone Festival, Milan has received high praise from both the public and professionals. This festival aims to educate young saxophonists, enrich the saxophone repertoire, and promote its artistic possibilities, hosting some of the world’s greatest saxophonists.

 

In 2017, his artistic and pedagogical commitment was recognized by the French Ministry of Culture, which named him a Knight of Arts and Letters.
