Caroline, American saxophonist and teacher based in Italy, stands out for her international influence and prestigious distinctions.

Passionate about chamber music, she collaborates with major ensembles and participates in important festivals.

A career combining virtuosity, creativity, and pedagogical excellence.

Currently based in Italy, Caroline is an American freelance saxophonist and teacher.

 

She has performed across the United States, Italy, Spain, France, Croatia, Cyprus, and San Marino, in prestigious festivals such as:

Competitions and awards

 

Winner of first prizes both as a soloist (University of Georgia Concerto Competition) and in chamber music (Premio delle Arti – Chamber Music Division, Italy), Caroline has established herself on the international stage.

 

She has also participated and performed in multiple editions of the World Saxophone Congress and the North American Saxophone Alliance.

 

In 2023, she was selected as one of only five musicians for the artistic residency Changes with Swedish composer Ellen Arkbro, performing a series of concerts throughout Italy.

 

Artistic activity

 

A passionate chamber musician, Caroline gave the European premiere of David Maslanka’s Concerto for Saxophone Quartet and Wind Ensemble with the Mestizo Quartet, conducted by Lorenzo Passerini. She is currently the tenor saxophonist of the Gershwin Quintet, an all-female ensemble (saxophone quartet + piano) specializing in the music of George Gershwin.

 

As an orchestral saxophonist, she has collaborated with the Orchestra Senzaspine and the Orchestra La Corelli.

 

Teaching and organization

 

Caroline is a saxophone professor at the Malerbi School of Music in Lugo and at the Officina della Musica in Ravenna.

 

She also contributes to the organization of the International Sax Arts Festival and the Associazione Fattorini / Festival Ulysses.

Fondazione Accademia Internazionale di Imola “Incontri col Maestro” (2023) – the first saxophonist to obtain a chamber music degree from this institution.

 

Her main teachers include Marco Albonetti, Connie Frigo, and Marco Zuccarini.
