Nicolas Arsenijevic is one of the most recognized saxophonists of his generation. Graduated from the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris in 2016 in the class of Claude Delangle (Bachelor and Master), he works across contemporary creation, original saxophone repertoire, transcriptions, Balkan traditional music, and musical theater.
Winner of numerous international competitions – Gap (2008), Nova Gorica (2011), Circolo Cameristico Piemontese (2011), Grand Prix of the Académie de Flaine (2012), Andorra Sax Fest (2015), Josip Nochta of Zagreb (2017), Adolphe Sax Competition in Dinant (2014 and 2019).
He performs in France (Musée Jacquemard-André, Salle Cortot, Théâtre du Châtelet, Salle Gaveau…) and around the world (Slovenia, Italy, Serbia, Montenegro, China, South Korea, Taiwan, Poland, Spain, etc.), while giving numerous masterclasses.
Member of several ensembles (Laloy Quartet, Saxback Ensemble, Kosmopolitevitch Orkestar, Ensemble Octopus), he collaborates with young composers from IRCAM and CNSMDP to create innovative projects, such as Quatre corps en quête d’auteur (2014).
In 2017, he released a critically acclaimed album (Indé’sens label) dedicated to Johannes Brahms’ sonatas transcribed for saxophone, with pianist Françoise Buffet. In 2020, he released a record (Chapeau l’Artiste label) focused on Brahms’ Quintet and contemporary pieces specially commissioned.
Holder of the Certificate of Aptitude, he teaches at the CRD of Aulnay-sous-Bois, the CRR of Versailles (with Vincent David), and the Royal Conservatory of Brussels. As a Selmer artist and Cziffra Foundation laureate, he combines virtuosity, passion, and pedagogical commitment.
