Born in the South-West of France, Guillaume Berceau discovered the saxophone at a small music school before continuing his studies at the Conservatories of Bordeaux, Bayonne, and Toulouse, and later at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris (CNSMDP).
Between 2015 and 2019, he successfully earned several Masters (saxophone, pedagogy, chamber music) with unanimous honors and jury congratulations, along with the Prize for Generative Improvisation, the State Diploma for Teaching, and the Certificate of Aptitude.
Awarded in numerous competitions, he notably stood out at UFAM and Gap, won the 1st Honor Prize at the Bellan Competition, and achieved 4th prize at the prestigious International Adolphe Sax Competition in Dinant (2014).
As a tenured professor at the Paris City Conservatory, Guillaume Berceau combines pedagogical innovation with artistic audacity.
He champions and enriches the original saxophone repertoire, particularly through new works in collaboration with contemporary composers from IRCAM and CNSMDP.
A graduate of the CNSMDP arrangement class, he has created numerous transcriptions for the Zahir Quartet, with which he performs in prestigious venues in France and internationally.
