I bought the 2 rings, for Cla Sib and Cla Basse, the sound is enriched, it improves the reed, develops the sound and embellishes it. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because I have a very big fear of losing it!!!! When I take my clarinet apart, after a short moment of inattention, I am afraid that the ring will fall off without me realizing it, because it is quickly done and I will not find it again ..... I know very well that if it is fixed, the effect will no longer be the same ... In any case, bravo to JLV ????

Review submitted by Kim DAEGYUN - I usually don't believe in the effect of sound bridges. However, after hearing Jean's description of the Phonic ring, I ordered it and it arrived today for me. The first impression when I opened the box was like a jewel. It can be attached under the mouthpiece or under the barrel. It was a very small and thin ring, but a big improvement. In fact, there has been a huge improvement in the responsiveness and density of the sound. I couldn't believe it and tried it with my students and they all reacted the same to it. I want my fellow clarinetists to experience this by all means! Once again, kudos to the Jlv team for creating such a wonderful piece of work.

A phonic ring is a copper ring placed at the joint between the neck and the body of the saxophone.
The material of the ring has a conductive effect that creates a connection between the two parts of the instrument, preventing the sound vibration from being interrupted.
As a result, the sound becomes fuller and more generous.
No, the phonic ring has no impact on the instrument’s intonation. With only 0.5 mm thickness for clarinets and 1 mm for saxophones, it does not affect the tuning or accuracy of your instrument in any way.
It actually provides greater clarity and precision.
There is no tuning ring for saxophone.
The tuning ring, used on clarinets, is designed to adjust the space between the mouthpiece and the barrel.
On the other hand, the phonic ring for saxophone is placed at a different level: between the neck and the body of the instrument.
Its role is to improve the transmission of vibrations to enrich the sound.
The phonic ring is compatible with B-flat, A, D, alto clarinets, and basset horn.
A larger version is available for the bass clarinet, with two sizes to fit different bells.
However, it is not yet suitable for contrabass clarinets.
